Features

From the first click to the client’s sheet.

Projects, tasks and a rate for every client. Four things you no longer do by hand.

Know what you’ve earned before the invoice.

Rate × time, live: a cent lands every second, the week and the month add up on their own, and the goal shows what’s left. Nothing to recount in a spreadsheet.

Calls stop eating your time, and notes stop getting lost.

When Zoom, Meet or Teams takes the microphone, the timer moves to a call task and the notes open over the call. When it ends, everything is already on the right task.

Your client sees the hours without a single email.

Connect the client’s Google Sheet once. Hourbloom fills in the days, shows what will change and never touches what was typed by hand. You just press Write.

Know what’s paid and who still owes you.

A day, a week, a month, a year or any range, by project. Log client payments and set a monthly goal: the report shows what you’ve earned, what’s paid and what’s still to receive.

Privacy

Your work stays on your Mac.

No account and no cloud of ours. Your projects, rates and notes live in a file on your Mac.

  • No account

Open the app and start the timer. There’s nothing to sign up for.

  • Nothing heard or recorded

To notice a call, macOS tells Hourbloom which app holds the microphone. Hourbloom never opens it.

  • Google only when you ask

Sheets sync goes from your Mac straight to Google, and only to sheets you pick or create.

  • Usage stats you can switch off

A few events that don’t identify you help us fix what’s broken. Never names, rates, sums or note text.

Questions

Before you download.

Is Hourbloom a menu bar time tracker?

Yes. Hourbloom is a time tracker for Mac that lives in the menu bar: the running timer is always in view, and one click opens the panel with today’s earnings, the week, the month and your tasks. Projects, reports and the client’s sheet have a main window.

Who is Hourbloom for?

Freelancers and contractors who bill by the hour: designers, developers, consultants, tutors, translators. It tracks billable hours per project and client, shows what they are worth at your rate, and turns them into a report or a client’s Google Sheet. It needs macOS 14 or later.

How does it count billable hours?

Give each project an hourly rate. While the timer runs, Hourbloom multiplies the time by that rate, so today’s earnings grow live and the week and month add up on their own. Log a client’s payment and the report shows what’s paid and what’s still to receive.

Does it work with Google Sheets?

Yes. Connect a client’s Google Sheet once and Hourbloom writes your hours and tasks into it day by day, after showing you what will change. Sheets sync is part of Pro.

Does Hourbloom record my calls?

No. macOS tells Hourbloom which app is using the microphone — that’s how it knows a call has started. The app never opens the microphone, never hears anything and records nothing.

Which apps does it notice?

Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Discord, Webex and WhatsApp. In Safari, Chrome, Arc and other browsers it recognizes Google Meet, Teams, Zoom and Jitsi by the tab’s title, which needs the Screen Recording permission.

Do I need an account?

No. Download the app and start tracking. Pro is bought through your Apple Account, so it follows you to any Mac signed in with it.

Where is my data?

In a file on your Mac, with a backup every day. Your entries are never uploaded to us. Google Sheets sync is optional and goes from your Mac straight to Google.

Can I bring my history from another tracker?

Yes. Hourbloom imports CSV files from Klokki, Toggl Track, Clockify and Harvest, and shows the days before adding anything.

What happens when the trial ends?

If you don’t cancel, the plan you chose starts and your Apple Account is charged. Cancel at least a day before the trial ends in your App Store settings. Free features stay free either way.
