1. These terms
These terms cover the Hourbloom app for Mac (“the app”) and the Hourbloom Pro subscriptions and one-time purchase. The app is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add what is specific to Hourbloom. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA applies, except where these terms give you more. Hourbloom is made by an independent developer, the seller shown on Hourbloom’s App Store page (“we”). By using the app or buying Pro, you agree to these terms.
2. The app
The app is free to download. Free features: the timer in the menu bar, projects, tasks and hourly rates, the report for the day, and CSV import and export. Pro adds Google Sheets sync, call notes, reports for any period, and payments with a monthly goal. We keep improving the app, so features may change over time.
3. Hourbloom Pro
Options and prices
- Pro Monthly — $4.99 per month, renews monthly.
- Pro Yearly — $29.99 per year, renews yearly.
- Pro Lifetime — $59.99 once, no renewal.
Prices are in US dollars. The App Store shows the price in your currency, which may differ by country and include local taxes. The price you see before you confirm is the price you pay.
Free trial
New subscribers to Pro Monthly or Pro Yearly get a 14-day free trial, once per Apple Account, as the App Store allows. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and your Apple Account is charged. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
Payment and automatic renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. A subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless automatic renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends. If the price changes, Apple tells you in advance and, where its rules or the law require, asks for your consent.
Managing and cancelling
On your Mac, open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage. Or go to System Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions → Manage, or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Lifetime
Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro on Hourbloom for Mac with no renewal, for as long as we offer the app.
Restoring purchases
Pro belongs to your Apple Account. On another Mac signed in with the same account, open Hourbloom’s Pro screen and choose Restore Purchases.
Refunds
All payments are processed by Apple, so we can’t issue refunds ourselves. To ask for one, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Your rights under consumer law in your country are not affected.
If Pro ends
Nothing is deleted. Free features keep working, and your entries, notes and payments stay in the app; the Pro features lock until you subscribe again.
4. Your data and your responsibility
Your data is stored on your Mac (see the privacy policy). Hourbloom keeps daily copies, but it isn’t a backup service: keep your own backups of your Mac.
Hours, earnings and totals are calculated from the entries and rates you enter. Check them before you send an invoice or write them into a client’s sheet; you are responsible for what you bill.
When you connect Google Sheets, make sure you’re allowed to write into the sheets you connect. Google’s terms apply to your use of Google services.
5. Acceptable use
Use the app lawfully and as intended. Don’t try to get Pro features without paying for them, and don’t copy, resell or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it.
6. Warranty and liability
We work hard to make Hourbloom reliable, but the app is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those the law requires and those in the Standard EULA. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or lost data, and our total liability is limited to US$50 or, if more, the amount you paid for Hourbloom in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
7. Changes
If we change these terms, we’ll publish the new version here with a new date and mention important changes in the app’s update notes before they take effect. Changes that affect your subscription won’t apply to a period you’ve already paid for. If you keep using the app once a change takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you don’t agree, stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
